I liked your interpretations, even though I'll quickly admit the first one wasn't on my mind when I made it. But I can see it working from that angle as well, so that's all good, I guess. If you know what I'm saying? It's really early in the morning and I'm hungry. So in the last panel he's just holding on to it for future surprise attacks. Or that's my first interpretation anyway.
