“al dente” means that you can feel the pasta cooked but not soft. To prove if pasta is “al dente” you take one spaghetti out of boiling water and suddenly launch it on a wall…if it sticks without moving…pasta is cooked.
If you’re not used to eat pasta ala dente it may taste like it is not cooked enough.
