You have to swap the panels around a bit. Here you see that the apples are the family right in the second panel, which gives away the punchline already. My idea would be this: 1# panel - Stays the same, but without face on apple 2# panel - Here comes the 3t panel: Mr. Tell shooting 3# panel - The guy getting shot/You see blood splattering/Whatever 4# panel - Stays the same -> Punchline Well, that's just what I thought when seeing this great joke.
