As previously hinted, here’s the blockbuster sequel/prequel to this strip. A Hollywood adaptation of Chickenman will hopefully never appear, but still, here is my dream casting: Christian Bale as “Chickenman”, Tim Roth as “The Hickster”, Scarlett Johansson as Jennifer Juggs (“The Milkmaid”) and Danny DeVito as “Humpty Dumpty”. Director: Ridley Scott. Oh, and again: vote! […]
This strip references a board game I’ve never actually played. This may or may not have clouded my conception of what it’s really about. Oh, and is it funny today? Vote! This helps a great deal to direct more readers to the comics you like. Thanks!
Ah, idyllic family life. While prepping this one for upload, I noticed some “hidden” stuff in the Photoshop file that I should be able to throw up in a blog post within the next couple days. Stay tuned. Also, reading about the New England Webcomics Weekend over the past few days made it sound extremely […]
Apologies (again) to Thorbjørn Egner. Yes! As promised, here’s the follow-up to this strip. Character inconsistencies prevent it from being called a sequel or prequel, so we’ll just call it a reboot and leave it at that. Oh, and if you’re scratching your head in bewilderment about what’s going on here, the previous strip about […]
An old strip today (which shows, if you ask me), and an even older one will appear on Friday. Newer stuff will appear next week, but probably along with an announcement of a slightly changed posting schedule, unfortunately.
If I ever get around to make Optipess merchandise, real boxes of “Crunchies” cereal will be a top priority. Also, apparently my webhost was down again sometime over the past few hours — obviously it’s working right now as you’re reading this — but if this keeps up I guess I’ll have to look for an […]
Ah, blue/red 3D glasses, how I miss thee. I remember reading a bunch of 3D layered comics as a kid, especially a story of The Spirit that worked very well, but I have no idea if any are still around these days. Sure, a couple movies used it to alright effects, but mostly it just […]
PS: Speaking of zombies, check out this trailer for the Norwegian nazi-zombie-horror-comedy Dead Snow, currently showing at the Sundance Festival to rave reviews. Apparently John Cusack liked it. If that doesn’t entice you, it also got the truly excellent tagline “Ein, Zwei, Die!” – reason enough to see it, I’d say.
Breaking news: A prequel/sequel/reboot strip of Chickenman is also in the works, so it’s definitely turning into a recurring franchise! A blockbuster movie is also scheduled for a summer 2011 release, sadly with Keanu Reeves playing every part.
Apologies to Thorbjørn Egner. Hmm. I suspect the reference in todays strip might be way too obscure for the general public, but damnit, I’m pretty pleased with it so I’m posting it anyway. For anyone outside of Scandinavia, the two jolly fellows in the first three panels are Karius and Baktus (a play on the […]
BAM! The obligatory (and admittedly embarrasing) first comic is online! This one’s a bit old, made sometime in July 2007, if I remember correctly. Nevertheless, the keen observation about what really goes through the mind of a teen horror slasher is still fresh and highly provocative (what?) to this day. Enjoy!
