Remember, guys – second place is just the first loser.
Once again: Great work on the expressions, love the third panel ^^
poor second rate dad
I was recently informed by my daughter that I was her 2nd favorite dad. Still, 2nd out of several billion isn’t too bad.
now i only gotta figure out a way to reproduce so i can get my shot at #1!
I “laughed out loud” at this one.
Why is the dad-ranking decided by compat ability?
Because my dad can beat up your dad.
It reminds me of this comic.
Aah, dangit! I was a little wary about this strip since I had a nagging feeling it was such an ‘obvious’ joke it just had to have been done before. I couldn’t find anything with a Google search, though – so I went ahead and made it regardless.
As a fan of SMBC I’ve quite possibly read that one back in ’08 and forgotten about it now. I see Zach even got the “#2 Dad” angle in the ‘votey’ button. Oh well, I’m glad to see you guys liked it anyway.
@SilverDSlite: Thanks! I’m not sure it shows, but I was actually sort of going for a “FFFFUUUUUUU”-expression.
@DJBogtrotter: Sure, not bad! Although I doubt she knows all those other dads. Makes me wonder who’s #1, though?
@brent: Good luck! I hear these rumored ‘females’ are somewhat integral to the reproduction process.
Taken from a Seinfeld episode from about a dozen years ago. The episode titled “The English Patient”.
I think your version of the joke is done better, actually.
The man wearing the #1 shirt is like a god. Only the man wearing the #2 shirt can challenge the man with the #1 shirt.
I think the Geekly dad should have won, rather than the stereotypically brainless blond muscled dad….other than that, nicely done.
@Jeff as much as I wanted the geek dad to win, the blonde dad has a daughter… you can’t break a little girl’s heart xD
Could have made the number 2 on the number one shirt but the 2 is written with a marker. OR the shirt cut off in a way that it’s got 2 on it.
