Ahem. My deepest and most sincere apologies to Mr. Bill Watterson. You are a legend.
Funny and sad all at the same time. Love it.
I’m usually a fan of your alternate styles, and this one does not disappoint. Quite an excellent parody of a beloved comic.
There goes your pantomime streak oh well
Okay. I describe this officially as “Your best comic ever” :D It made me laugh out loud and few comics can do that.
If you sadly would have to stop making comics from now on, this would have been the perfect ending. But I hope you continue. :)
Ah, what a perfect set-up. I never saw it coming! :D
Still living the dream!
This could perfectly work without the speach bubble in the last panel, and your “pantomime streak” would still roll….
I LOOVED this comic! Sad but also hilarious :D
Poor Susie Derkins… still the victim!
Epic. Susie growm up in a suit with groceries and Calvin a bald dirty psychotic loser in the club house still. Genius. Sad too….
This is true awesomenes. Cudos.
You might say it’s sad, but Calvin is still smiling.
He’s probably happier than any of us.
Thanks for your comments, gang!
1st: Yup, that is indeed meant to be Susie.
2nd: Ah yeah, I guess I could’ve removed the speech bubble to make this one pantomime as well, but explicitly pointing it out that Hobbes “threw” the balloon makes the scenario even sadder.
3rd: I love Calvin & Hobbes. I probably wouldn’t even be making my silly comics in the first place if it wasn’t for Bill Watterson. So I feel a tiny bit bad about this strip, almost like some things really shouldn’t be messed with. For instance, I really hate that C&H parody mashup comic someone did where Calvin starts taking meds and Hobbes reverts back to being a toy tiger again. So yeah, I’d like to make a proper tribute to Calvin & Hobbes at some point. But we’ll see if that pans out.
That’s actually kind of creepy. Kid Calvin is absolutely adorable, though.
For some reason the style of this reminds me more of Perry Bible Fellowship than of Calvin and Hobbes. Both comics, as well as yours, are all very great and have a lovely unique style.
Sorry, I meant to say that this comic’s style was reminiscent of Truck Bearing Kibble, not Perry Bible Fellowship. Although both comics are sorely missed. Thanks again for the trip down memory lane Kristian.
Danineteen – Creepy? What’s creepy is your automatic association of advanced age with creepiness.
And you’re one to talk. What the in the hell is wrong with your face?
Hey now, play nice. If you’re going to insult someone in these comments, it should exclusively be me. However, it’s obvious Dani’s avatar pic is Photoshopped – unless she’s an alien or something.
Also, yeah – this strip is kinda creepy, I agree.
Hobbes is looking really well after all these years. Calvin, not so much. The one childhood stuffed animal I still have around looks like it has been through a war!
You’d think after 30 years Susie would have learned to give the tree house a wider berth and maybe walk on the other side of the street!
Did anyone else notice the wedding ring on Susie Derkins?
That can’t be a wedding ring. It’s on her right hand, middle finger.
Unless things are different in Norway
Good catch, both of you! It is indeed meant to be a wedding ring, and I first drew it on her left hand which was raised to protect her face. However, I couldn’t get it to look right, so I removed it and added the right hand instead. Only later did I realize I still kept the ring, but now on the wrong hand. :)
What a SHITTY rip off from PBF.
Get your own style homo. Oh wait, you did, and it SUCKS.
Kid, please take the verbal diarrhea back to YouTube comment sections or wherever it is you usually fester; you’re just making an ass of yourself here.
I have to say… this one did hit me in the gut a bit like the Ritalin one, unfortunately. =(
Great comics for the most part, though.
@Neg: Thanks for reading! Your support means the world to me!
@Jake: Ah yeah, I can see what you’re saying. I guess my main beef with the Ritalin comic is that it’s a copy/paste job of other C&H strips, but I definitely see the similarities. Now maybe I should go through with that other C&H “tribute” strip I mentioned here earlier… It will certainly be less blasphemous, that’s for sure.
“good throw, ol buddy”
Aw.. So bittersweet.
i agree mr anderson
i’ve never posted an ‘epic’ before. but, this fits the bill quite nicely.
shouldn’t there be the without glasses guy tag? also love ur comics!
Oops, absolutely. Fixed now! And thanks!
