I’m thinking this needs a “nobody dies” tag. I spent a few seconds trying to figure out who dies in this one and was finally forced to admit today’s strip was entirely devoid of amusing deaths.
@tm0rk: Hah yeah, I thought of that as well, but still kept the money element in the first panel. I think he’s just desperate for Mom’s homemade cookies, and the store-bought ones just don’t cut it as a substitute.
As for the blood on the crowbar… I actually hoped it wouldn’t be that easy to spot – maybe I should have made it a bit more subtle. Either way, the ambiguity of it don’t warrant a “someone dies” tag, I think. But yeah, your worst assumption of whose blood it is is probably true. :P
