Another Tell Tale
Ah yes, another take on this classic tale. Regular readers will notice an increased historical accuracy – in particular, he’s now using a crossbow!

I love the dad-apple with glasses ^^
Hahhaa… The blood splatter in the final panel totally makes this. Kristian, your stuff just gets better and better. You always seem to find the way to take a well-worn comic trope and invent a novel and hilarious twist. Well done sir :-)
Well he surely use a crossbow, even a loaded one, but why isn’t the string stretched? :P
Anyway, great comic, love the sense of humour, keep it up!
@dagfooyo: Thanks!
@zimnic: Ah, actually that is supposed to look like the arrow has been shot already. I guess I could tweak the opacity on that layer, but it will have to wait until tomorrow.
Guess the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree after all, nicely done comic.
This comic reminds me of this comic: http://www.amazingsuperpowers.com/2008/11/william-tell/
Really like this one. Probably ‘cos I really like apples.
I think the joke is GREAT but it could work much better. You have to swap the panels around a bit. Here you see that the apples are the family right in the second panel, which gives away the punchline already. My idea would be this:
1# panel – Stays the same, but without face on apple
2# panel – Here comes the 3t panel: Mr. Tell shooting
3# panel – The guy getting shot/You see blood splattering/Whatever
4# panel – Stays the same -> Punchline
Well, that’s just what I thought when seeing this great joke.
I love your work. :)
But on the other hand I’m REALLY REALLY tired and did not understand it in the right way. 2# panel: Family thinks apple is going to die.
Meh. But anyways, so I made up a new joke.
Bugger off mate, any rearranging would diminish how clever this joke is, it wouldn’t be anew joke in the slightest.
Hahaha, good stuff, man. The title is very suiting too :) Love the blood splatter at the end.
who are the people in the backround of the fourth panel?
Onlookers… do you suppose he just did it for shits and giggles one day?
a drunken bet of a travelling show gone awry would be logical scenarios…
/sorry to sound so terse, been trawling the archives and the pbf whiteknighters are getting me down… it’s like comparing bruce lee and jackie chan; they are contemporaries in the bronze age of an artform, would that we had seen them grow together over the decades, but sadly not to be. Alas…
sorry third?
