Nailguns 101
Everything I know about nailguns I’ve learned from Quake – but you probably already guessed that.
Also, I had originally planned for a fireworks-related comic for all you celebrating Americans today, but I scrapped it as it turned out too crude – yup, even more so than the above comic!
OK, now I *have* to see that too-crude-for-the-webs comic. Maybe if you create an obscene version of this comic under a different name? It’s all about branding, don’t you know. Here are my suggestions:
– “Obscenipess”
– “Opticrude”
– “Guy with glasses but without pants”
– “You’ll regret clicking this. No, really.”
OK fine, I failed my marketing class. But I’m CERTAIN that your other fans would be more than happy to come up with an awesome name for it!
Haha well, you’re certainly pretty close already (suspiciously so!) with those suggestions. Maybe the fabled fireworks comic will make an appearance later on.
What about optipiss?
I so guessed Quake :D
I guess you can say
*puts on sunglasses*
they really nailed him.
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH
Obscenipess – I second that.
Good ol’ Quake… Optipess needs more nerd-induced gore (and boob!) :P
Can you really shoot nails like bullets? That’s what I want to know… because that’s critical to the crescendo of ARACHNOPHOBIA, but I never quite bought it.
As much as I know you really can shoot nails like bullets but it have a really bad accuracy at range (nails aren’t very aerodynamic)
I’m not sying this to correct anyone, just provide some information; but the majority of nailguns have a trigger you push to fire the nail, but also a plate on the end of the gun that needs to be depressed (by pressing the gun into the wood) in order for the gun to actually fire. To rapid fire nails, simply hold the trigger than bounce the gun across the board which depresses the plate each time the gun meets the board.
Now you know, and knowing is half the battle.
Detective’s face is priceless
Mythbusters just busted that, actually. ^^
Shouldn’t this be tagged “without glasses guy?” I mean, unless the professor is actually him twenty years in the future.
